Quilts in the Sun

For the longest time, my grandmother, who is an extremely talented quilter, has been offering to make a quilt for my home. I’ve been stalling because most traditional designs don’t really fit my décor and I want to choose a pattern that ensures her masterpiece will get the use it deserves.

After searching high and low for a design worthy of her stitches (and my living room) an advanced copy of Quilts in the Sun, the eleventh book by the legendary artist Kaffe Fassett, found its way to my desk. The book is filled with stunning photography of 20 of his new bold patchwork designs and their patterns, including my favorite, “Red Floral Parade.”

I’m pre-ordering a copy of the book for Grandma so she can get to work right way without fighting the crowds when it is released in stores nationwide on the 25th.

Have a great weekend!
