Watching the Grass Grow: Day 6
When I came into work this morning I was pleasantly surprised to see that my grass seeds have sprouted and it’s only day 6. According to the package, I wasn’t supposed to see results for 7 to 10 days. I’m watering it faithfully and it seems to like my sunny window sill, so hopefully my little patch of grass will thrive here.
Now that I’ve had some success with a little bit of grass, my thoughts are turning to my yard at home. It’s still brown and dormant but soon it will sprout too and I’ll need to start planning how to help it along. Dr. Trey Rogers, professor of turfgrass science at Michigan State University, has some great tips for how and when you should start preparing your yard for spring growth. Check out Trey’s website to see his suggestions.
