They finished installing the new granite countertops in my kitchen just in time (that's them in the picture above). The same day that the countertops went in, my mother called to warn me that granite countertops emit radiation that could cause cancer and suggest that I should have made a different choice. It’s not likely that I’ll rip out my new counters, but am I taking a risk with my family’s health? Are granite countertops really dangerous?
