You’ve probably seen the photo of Sarah Palin in her office with her bearskin rug draped over the sofa. Personally, I can’t really imagine putting something like that in my home, but I guess everyone has their own style. It could be that Palin likes to decorate with animal fur. And it could also be that a lot of other people agree with her. Do you? Or do your friends or family?

But I would prefer to think that the real reason she displays this rug is because her father supposedly shot it for her. I certainly have some really ugly stuff in my home that was passed on to me by my mother, grandmother or mother-in-law. There’s the hideous yellow pot decorated with a giant chicken (given to me because my husband was born in the year of the rooster), for example. And like many women, I pull this stuff out when I know the giver of these gifts is coming for dinner. What would you do if someone you love gave you a gift that you just couldn’t stand?
