Cash Crack(er) Up

Imagine coming home from the supermarket, feeling a little snacky, and opening your newly purchased box of Annie's Sour Cream and Onion Cheddar Bunny crackers. Only, instead of finding the salty goodness you were craving, you pull out $10,000.

That's exactly what happened to one woman and her daughter in Irvine, CA. The duo promptly called the police to report their unexpected finding, who tracked the cracker cash back to an elderly woman who had mistakenly returned the other box of crackers she had lying around the house—the one with her life savings inside.

Which is a nice story and all—especially in times like these, when we can't think of one person who couldn't use an extra $10K in unmarked bills—except that the elderly woman never contacted the family to say thank you!

At the very least, she could have bought them a new box of crackers.

If you found 10 grand in a cracker box, would you return it?

Absolutely, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I didn't turn it in. In this case it would have been an elderly person missing the money. How could you feel good about keeping this old person's money? Thank God someone with morals found the money.

No way hozy for her loosing the money in the first place ment she never needed it and for me finding the money is ment to be, for her not thanking the person returning it says alot.

well I do think the elderly woman should have contacted to at least say thank you and maybe even a small reward but I don't think I would have kept the money. I don't even keep change from a soda machine that isn't due me. Integrity is doing right even when no one sees.
